Texas Yoga Retreat Followup

The Texas Yoga Retreat, held just outside of Austin, is always a wonderful, magical, healing experience.  My two classes went very well and I took classes from some wonderful teachers throughout the weekend. Classes with Esther Vexler, a 93 year old yogi from San Antonio, were a real treat.  To see a very fast-paced slideshow capturing moments at the retreat go to http://www.texasyoga.com/videos.htm. I hope you will consider attending next year.

Breathecure Conference

I will be teaching at the BreatheCure Conference, October 29, 2011,  8:00 am-7:00 pm, Rice University, Houston TX.  The focus of the conference is the exploration of yoga postures, breathing and meditation techniques to enhance our powers of self-healing.  Find out more at www.breathecure.org.

I’ll be teaching two classes at the Texas Yoga Retreat, Oct. 21-23, 2011, Austin TX at Radha Madhav Dham ashram and retreat center.  All levels of students welcome.  Check their website: www.texasyoga.com for detailed information. This is a wonderful event in a beautiful setting with great vegetarian food.  I hope you can make it.

Yoga has been shown to improve health and well-being in many ways.

  • Improve strength and balance.
  • Improve joint mobility and muscle pliability.
  • Improve many health conditions such as asthma,  heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, muscular sclerosis, headache, prenatal and postpartum experience and many more.
  • Relieve anxiety, depression and emotional stress.

Don’t practice for cosmetic beauty, practice for cosmic beauty. Practice for inner beauty and inner light.”

~BKS Iyengar, to students during his recent China trip.
